The Girl of Ink and Stars - Book by Kiran Millwood Hargrave
The Labyrinth
A labyrith is a place constructed of passageways of tunnels and chambers.
In the story, Isabelle( Isa) and her friend find themselves plummeting into a watery labyrinth.
The water magically changes Isabella’s map, revealing a hidden layer.
They follow the new map for a while, hide from more tibicenas and get lost in narrow tunnels.
Beneath the dry rivers and smoking mountains, a legendary fire demon is stirring from its sleep.
Do they get out alive?
Activity
Your task today is to design you own labyrinth, complete with passageways, tunnels, chambers and blocked exits.
Your labyrith should have only one way in and one way out.
Next, think about what creature/monster would live in your labyrinth.
What does it look like?
What powers does it have?
What is it protecting?
Draw and label a picture of your mythical creature that lives at the centre on the labyrinth
Write some sentences to describe what it looks like, how it behaves and its purpose for protecting the labyrinth.
