WALT: make an Anglo-Saxon helmet from Sutton Hoo.
This week, in Topic, you have learned about Sutton Hoo and the remains that were found there. In the BBC clip that you watched yesterday, they showed a helmet that was used by King Raewald in the 5th and 6th century.
Today, with some cardboard, you will be making an Anglo-Saxon helmet. You can follow the instructions on the young archaeological link here: https://www.yac-uk.org/activity/make-your-own-sutton-hoo-helmet.
You will also see that it is set out in the same way as the instructions we have been studying in English this week.
In the 'Materials Required' section, it states gold and silver paint however you don't need this, you can use pens or felt pens to colour the helmet.
Have fun making the helmet!
