WALA: The Gods & Goddesses of Ancient Egypt

Today we are going to learn about the belief systems of the Ancient Egyptians The Gods played important roles in the daily lives of the ancient Egyptians. There were two levels of gods: local gods and national gods. People looked to the gods for help with everything from making it rain to a safe journey in the afterlife. There were daily rituals for caring for the gods and festivals celebrating specific gods. At the time the Egyptians didn’t have the scientific knowledge that we have now.

Watch the teacher lead clip which gives you an overview of some of the most important Gods & Goddesses and what their role was in Ancient Egyptian society.
