Enjoy and Achieve

Good Morning Hedgehogs!

A new day and new lessons, keep going you are all doing amazingly!

Don’t forget Zoom call today at 10.30.

What you will need

Zoom call

10.30 – Codes will be on Class Dojo J

Today I will need you to have some paper and a pencil/pen with you. The zoom call will be your first part of your maths lesson too so hold fire on completing your maths until we have finished our call.

Looking forward to seeing you all again.

Zoom codes – found on our class story of Class Dojo

Something to write with

1. Warm up your maths brains with me on Zoom, we will be doubling numbers up to 20 so if you want to get some practice in before the zoom call then please do.

2. I would like you to create your own doubling questions using dice today. You can choose from the 3 challenges below. If you choose challenge 1, I would like you to try just 2 goes of challenge 2 as well.

C1 – Roll one dice and double the number you receive.

C2 – Roll the dice twice (or two dice at the same time), add up what you have rolled and then double that number.

C3 – Roll the dice once to give you a tens digit then roll again for a ones digit (example if you roll a 3 and then a 4, the number you have created is 34), now double the 2 digit number you have created.

Dice- if you do not have any dice at home you can use this link for an online one.

1. Can you think of any of your spellings today? Try writing at least 3 from memory.

2. We are going to start a new story this week. Before we start the story you need to have a really close look at the Willow Pattern Plate (resources)

What can you see?

Write some sentences to explain what is on the plate. Can you use adjectives to describe?

3. Look back at your sentences. Have you used capital letters and full stops? Neat writing? Careful spellings?

4. Once you are happy with your work can you use any of the things you have written about to tell a short story?

Find a comfy corner and a book you haven’t read in a long time. Read it to yourself, remind yourself of the story… you could try and read it to your sibling or pet. Ask an adult about any tricky words and their meanings. Don’t forget to use the ‘pause’ button when you are reading at home, just like we o in class.

A good book

Topic - ART

Chinese Dragons

For your art lesson this week we would like you to follow a video, remembering to pause each time they ask you to complete something so that you give yourself enough time and you do not rush.

During this clip you are going to be shown how to draw a Chinese Dragon and we would like you to try and draw one too as you watch. When you have finished your dragon please ask one of your grownups if they could take a photo of your dragon, put it on Dojo and send it to your teacher. We would love to be able to create a gallery on Our Class Story.

As an extra challenge see if you can find out a fact about Chinese Dragons too.

Have fun!
