Information for September 2026 Starters

Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage at Maylandsea Primary School!

Your child will be in Bumblebee class and the class teachers are Mrs Moody and Mrs Grant.

We are very excited and pleased to welcome both children and parents/carers to our school community. In order that you have a smooth transition from nursery, pre-school or home to our school, we have organised the following key dates and activities: -

You are invited to attend a parent’s/carer’s meeting at 6pm on Monday 29^th June 2026. The meeting will give you a chance to meet your child’s teachers as well as give you vital information about class organisation and school routines that you will require in order to help you prepare for September. Parents with children already at the school are strongly advised to attend, as there are always changes every year. Where possible please avoid bringing children on this occasion.

We would like to invite your child to visit the school before September to meet Mrs. Moody and Mrs. Grant and see their classroom. On Monday 29^th June 2026 for a stay and play session with parents and carers from 2:00pm - 2:30pm. This session will be held outside by the pirate ship and is an opportunity for a more informal meeting with Mrs. Moody, Mrs Grant and the staff team. Children and parents / carers are welcome to visit on Tuesday 7^th July 2026 between 9:30am and 10:30am and Friday 4th July 2025 between 1:30am and 2:30pm Parents are invited to stay for tea / coffee and a chat with other parents. Entry and exit to school will be via the gate by the playground. A member of staff will be there to direct you and your child and show you how to get to class.
